MICHAEL S. BROWN
Michael S. Brown graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor. Since his call to the Bar, he has practiced extensively in serious personal injury litigation and is a member of Gillis Injury Law’s experienced team of personal injury lawyers in Richmond Hill.
Michael has practiced personal injury law for both plaintiffs (claimants), and as counsel for insurance companies. In the last 15 years, Michael has devoted himself exclusively to the representation of victims (plaintiffs) in their recovery of tort (negligence) claims.
Michael has appeared in personal injury trials before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. He has also appeared as counsel before administrative tribunals, the Ontario Divisional Court, and Ontario Court of Appeal. He has extensive experience in dispute resolution, including formal mediation and settlement of clients' claims.
Michael is a well-known and respected trial lawyer in the Greater Toronto area, with particular focus on the Regional Municipality of York and its Central East Region Court House at Newmarket, Ontario. He is an avid gardener and bridge player.
Stewart Gillis B.A. (Hons), LL.B, J.D., C.S. received his formal legal education at Osgoode Hall, Toronto, and initially practiced law as a personal injury insurance defence lawyer in Toronto. His insurance defence work centered on personal injury files and medical and hospital malpractice matters. He works in Brampton as a car crashes lawyer and an accident lawyer in Richmond Hill.
Since 1986, Stewart has been practicing in Peel Region. His main office is located in Brampton, Ont., but he also works from the Richmond Hill office. He continues to focus on serious personal injury litigation and wrongful death on behalf of victims of negligence in motor vehicle accidents and medical malpractice matters.
He has been an instructor for the Law Society of Upper Canada and taught students at law at the Toronto Bar Admission Courses at Osgoode Hall. Stewart is also a Deputy Judge of the Superior Court of Ontario and a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation.
In his spare time, Stewart likes to practice and play the bagpipes. He is a member of the Toronto Scottish Regiment Pipes & Drums and he has had the pleasure of performing for Queen Elizabeth II.
Stewart's experience also extends to personal injury arising from faulty consumer goods, elevators, amusement rides and devices, unsafe watercraft, and other negligence and products liability matters. Stewart has served as a director of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), and he has lectured extensively on topics ranging from motor vehicle litigation and insurance matters to "bad faith" claims against insurers.

Apurva Shah received his formal legal education at Wayne State University Law School in the City of Detroit. During law school he was an active participant in Moot Court and Trial Advocacy programs. He also clerked for the Honorable Judge Callahan of the 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County, Michigan.
Apurva was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2007, the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Illinois in 2008, and to the Ontario Bar Association in 2011. Apurva practiced law for a leading national bankruptcy law firm in the City of Chicago. He was responsible for representing debtors in all aspects of litigation involving Chapter 7 & Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions. He also regularly appeared at Federal Bankruptcy Court for confirmation hearings.
Apurva currently practices and specializes in the areas of Plaintiff Personal Injury, Accident Benefits Litigation, and Wills and Estate. He appears regularly at the Superior Court of Justice for motion hearings and has second chaired trials involving motor vehicle accidents and medical malpractice claims. He also appears at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
In his spare time, Apurva enjoys working out, listening to music, and participating in sports.

After surviving a serious motor vehicle accident as a teenager, Joanna Eubanks was inspired to help others who have sustained injuries. She understood the emotional distress and wanted to ensure those injured would receive the fair compensation they deserved. Joanna’s law practice is built on the core principle that each client is a person and not a file. Joanna Eubanks graduated with a B.A. in Social Science from York University in 2005. In 2008, she graduated from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England where she received her LL.B. After successfully completing the accreditation program, articles and bar examinations, Joanna was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012.
Her practice is dedicated primarily to Plaintiff personal injury law including Motor Vehicle Accident litigation and Slip and Falls. Joanna also appears regularly in Small Claims Court and the Superior Court of Justice. She has also conducted mediations and pre-arbitration hearings at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
As an active member of her community, Joanna mentors youths and volunteers with senior citizen groups in the Brampton area. She is also a motivational speaker and avid traveller, enjoying many rich cultures around the world.
